Remote On Idea/Question

While operating remotely from a few hundred miles away, I managed to cause my 6500 to drop off the network. Locked up tight. I was able to reboot the computer and router remotely, to no effect. Clearly I need to reboot the radio. When I get home! I hope it's nothing too serious. Question about the remote on function - if I have a solid state relay activated by my PC's serial port DTR voltage, would this effectively reboot the radio each time I reboot the PC? I guess the question is would there be enough of a open circuit pulse of the closure across the remote on jack to trigger the reset? If the radio is in a state that drops network connectivity, would the remote trigger be sufficient to reset the rig? For info, I was operating JT65 using WSJT-x. Had some DAX issues earlier; not sure If they were related. I was testing using SSB remotely using DAX and Skype, 73, Geo

I am setting up a remote system at my house so I can use my F6.7K when away. I have programmed an Arduino, w/Ethernet interface, to display a web page that I access locally via a browser. I am using Remote Desktop to access my computer. The web page has controls to start the F6.7K by using a relay to close the power on contact.
