Remote CW

Now that we are closer to remote operations via LAN for CW I would like to suggest a SmartSDR feature that connects to a serial port (or USB) keyer; such as a WinkeyUSB or the like.
SmartSDR would have a Winkey like control panel that the user sets to the appropriate COM port created by the Winkey installation. From then on that interface could have a TX and echoed window for transmitted CW along with maybe 8-10 user defined messages.
The operator can turn off the radio's sidetone monitor and use the one built into the keyer which would eliminate latency concerns. And it will allow the operator to connect an actual key to use from the the operating position if desired, or just use the TX window mentioned above. The Echoed window will report what is actually sent either by key or the TX window.
There should also be capability to change winkey settings as there is in various programs.
If running software that connects to the Winkey such as N1MM for contest messages then the keying signal would have to somehow get to SSDR as well so it can key the radio. Maybe by a COM port splitter built into SmartCat?
