Recommend settings for Parallels 9 on iMac

Now that my 6300 has a scheduled ship date, I want to get the environment prepared. I have a new iMac (3.5(3.9) GHz 4 Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 4GB Discrete Video RAM) running OSX Mavericks. Parallels 9 is installed and running a 64 bit version of Windows 7. I also have a hard drive bootcamp partition with a 64 bit version of Windows 8 (yuck). Are there any recommended VM settings to help provide the optimum experience while running under Parallels? I also have MacLoggerDX. Has there been any experience/success running SmartSDR within Parallels while simultaneously running MacLoggerDX in the OS X environment? Settings? Thanks in advance!

Hi Jay, I run the same software here with no trouble. MacLogger is great since it allows rig control without a serial port connection. Although my experience is with a MacPro 8-core, I think you will be very pleased and satisfied with how things play on your system. Under Parallels, max out the video memory allocated. Also allow the "adaptive hyper visor" to run. I've tried using 1 virtual processor and all 8; think 8 works easiest, but it's not a huge deal. Your only drawback using a Mac system is the lack of easy serial CAT control and DAX. There are workarounds, though, should you need them. Good luck & welcome aboard! Geo

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
