Raspberry Pi C code to talk to flex?

Has anyone written in Raspberry Pi (linux) C code to connect to and talk to the flex that they would be willing to share?

I have built a remote tuner based around a Raspberry Pi for controlling the motors and relays in the tuner.  I have it all working but the next step is to add auto-tuning.  

Originally my plan was to include an Elecraft W2 wattmeter basically in the tuner and talk to that over RS-232.  It was somewhat flaky getting that to always work.  So I have abandoned that idea.

So at this point it seems like an easy option is to have my tuner code in the Pi connect to the flex and subscribe to meters and monitor SWR.

I have done socket connections in linux and a lot of the time they end up being a pain.  My tuner code is in C simply because I never took the time to learn Python or any of the other script like languages.

So I was sort of hoping for a starting point from linux C to connect to, subscribe to various flex options.  If no one has such a think then I will start working on it on my own.

Just thought I would ask!

I've got some that should be a good starting point for you.  It will connect, subscribe to slices & let you extract arbitrary elements from the events.  I'll send you a tarball in an email.
