Question Remote Data Rate for CW Operation

I am located in a rural area and will be using a satellite internet data service.  Downlink is up to 25 Mbps and uplink is 3Mbps max.  I am interested in CW operation and want to know if anyone has any experience with satellite internet service and if there are any throughput related rates that you can cite.  I do not know about the latency of the satellite service so that also remains a question.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

    Hi Rick

You are going to have to test it, but I suspect you won't like the latency that is introduce by your satellite connection.

Right out of the box, you are at about 680ms (or, more than 1/2 second).   While this is ok for streaming movies, etc., it becomes a bit of an issue when dealing with something real time like 2 way radio.

I'm sure others will chime in.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
