PTT and front LED not in sync

Why chasing FT4TA I've noticed an interesting item regarding PTT and the front LED while using CWX    When I use the function keys to transmit a stored message, the front LED would switch to red indicating transmit but then would almost immediately switch back to blue even though the message continues to be transmitted properly.
It would seem the led should be red as long as the transmitter/ptt is on.
I'm guessing the led is red while the message is being load into the transmit buffer then switches back to blue.

I have recently noticed the same issue when using an external keyer.  I think this is new behavior.  Have found that if the break in delay is set between 0 and 44 the red LED stays on for the entire transmission.  Anything more than that - red for a second or two then back to blue until delay times out and another keying starts the cycle over again.  Strange!  73, Tom K1FR
