Will the PowerGenius XL amplifier work with a FLEX-6700 on MARS frequencies in the USA?  The FLEX-6700 is unlocked for MARS operation.

I would also like an answer to this question. It is a go/no go question for my buying a PowerGenius XL.

Solid state amplifiers use low pass filters with fixed cutoff frequency to suppress the odd order harmonics. The most likely answer is NO.

My ALS600 filters are set in ranges that cover everything. As in 1.5 to 2.3 then 2.3 to 4.4 then 4.4 to 8.0 and so on to 21.6. So all of the MARS/CAP frequencies are workable. This seams very possible with the smarts of FLEX.

Remember that the amp is a SO2R amp where you want to minimize interference to your second radio. You want tight, sharp filters.

The official answer is "not right now, but it might be evaluated in the future."

The honest answer is, we haven't tested it so we do not know, which is a direct variation of Ria's answer.  Our concern would be adhering to NTIA compliance for spurious emissions since the amp is designed for use inside the IARU designated ham bands.  As such, we cannot endorse using the product in this manner until we have had an opportunity to characterize it.

Once we better understand using the amp on MARS frequencies, there may be an optional hardware and/or software update that will enhance the operation of MARS.  At this time we can not make any commitments one way or another.
