not much info to go by. When does it crash ? during receive or transmit. What power level ? What aerial ? Is it close to the shack ? Are you using a laptop of pc ?

crashes during receive, any power level.  and gives this messgage  in screen shot attached. using desktop  , W10 , and PCIE  card.

Worked great for a day then started shutting down.

Firewire cable is shielded and has ferrite magnets attached.

I would first run low power say 5w and then see if it crashes. If it does not crash, you have RF getting in somewhere, either into the computer or its cables.
If it still crashes on low power, then make sure you are not running other software at the same time as you run the flex software for example webcam software and so on. Your pc may not be able to keep up.
Try another computer and see if it still crashes. If it crashes on its receive, then you can uninstall the software and re-install it again. Make sure you uninstall everything, then disconnect the flex radio from the pc. Then restart the pc and install the software without connecting the flex until asked to do so.

The covered error looks like it has a drop down for more information. Would guess you are losing radio to computer connectivity. There were troubleshooting articles in the knowledge center on common FireWire/PowerSDR issues. They might help. 73 Steve K9ZW

    1. Check driver
    2. Check RF/shielding
    3. Check firewire cable, change for new/shorter/better shielded one
    4. Try PowerSDR 2.8.0 http://www.ke9ns.com/flexpage.html
    5. If all fails: upgrade your OS to Windows 7 :-)

    Hope u find the problem!
I had the same one on our last fieldday, changed fw cable, voila!

    Charles,

Seems the error is covered in your screen shot,  if you are getting Unhandled Exception Errors where is suddenly stops ,  check your FW cable connections, or better yet change the FW cable, they do tend to fail right at the FireWire connector and cause intermittent stops in PowerSDR ..   Have you made any changes such as adding any HW or SW programs to the computer that is  running ?    Something else could have the computer upset too..
