Looks interesting.  I was expecting the price to be around $7k US.

The recently announced SPE Expert 1.5-FA ($5k) has my eye.

I'm slightly confused by the declaration:

"Full legal power 1500W (100% duty cycle ICAS), in all modes, up to 2000W."

ICAS by definition is INTERMITTANT. What is its "BRICK ON KEY" time rating at full power please?

Thank You.

Hi Dave

I think the "Brick on Key" comes from the old ETO/Alpha amp advertising where they would actually put a brick on the code key and let the amp cook away at full power.

I cannot find a better picture, so perhaps someone has one to share:

Just joking around with you Steve....
I recall the ETO ads but not that one.

The changes to the amp look great - front and rear panel.

Hi Steve. Yes, some Alpha ads were great adverts. Grabbed attention and got right to heart of what it took to sell.

The Brick On Key number answers an important technical question for potential buyers, especially as here when no CCS figure is offered. -Dave

@Tim K3TIM - I'd love to lose some weight, but not THAT much....!  <grin>  and that guy in the ad is (was) a bit shorter too...

I think there was another ad or campaign from ETO/Alpha that really did have a brick on the key.

As a general reminder Ranko 4o3a is great about answering questions, and with his products sometimes the small confusions that come from using several languages crop up.

For a solid state amp to be "brick on key" rated is pretty impressive.
