We are considering useing a Flex for a club station, so members don't have to drive to the club shack to use it. With V3, it seems that and experienced Flex user and a beginner could be logged into the Flex at the same time to allow the coaching of the new user.

John,
That's exactly correct and one of the use cases for the radio.

True, but even though they can see the same radio interface at the same time the student and coach will need a communications channel via telephone, Zoom, Teamveiwer, etc. for coaching purposes.
Mentoring can also be done using v2 for remote access for a club member and then a simple Teamveiwer or Zoom session on the students computer so the coach can see and hear the what the student sees and hears.
Another issue with sharing a radio in v3 may be interstation interference when one user is trying to listen to say 40 meters CW while the other user is transmitting on 80 meters CW. This will require proper mult-station design with filtering and antenna separation.
This issue is elemenated by using v2 since there is only one user on the radio at any given time. This assumes there is not another transmitter on the air at the club station locally.
It will be interesting to see what users will do with v3 when it comes out.
