When I get the display settings correct for RX the TX display is a completely black background with my information in a very dark blue.  If I change the settings on TX to what I want then the display on RX is unusable...very bright.  1.38 display remained same with RX and TX.  Thanks...Roger

The signal strengths between TX and RX are so great in magnitude that the display rending is not going show the same color characteristics.  The waterfall "learns" the level of the noise floor and does an automatic back level adjustment based on the minimum power in an available FFT bin (an approximation of the noise floor).  If the waterfall was set to "learn" when transmitting when the minimum signal level is so much greater than on receive, when you transition back to RX, it would take several seconds for the waterfall to dynamically relearn the new minimum signal level and the waterfall would not be showing received signals in an optimal way.  So we turn off the waterfall black level learning while transmitting.  This is a consequence of the new waterfall code in SmartSDR v1.4.0.

When I use 1.38 the displays stay the same.  Thanks Tim.
