No Audio out to LDPA or DEMI 70cm on XVTR port with SSDR 3.0.27?

I finally just upgraded to SSDR 3.0.27. I followed Tim's excellent guide and did a complete removal of SSDR, including DAX drivers, and then full update of W10 before installing SSDR3. Of course made a backup of all profiles and setting before starting. ;-)

The install was no problem, and everything seemed to be working perfectly. Even a couple of DAX channels that had been corrupted with previous W10 updates are all working correctly again. Made FT8 contacts all over the globe, SSB on 20M is fine, everything seemed good.

I opened a slice on 2M, my LDPA fired up as usual and I can see the band just fine on the pan adapter. However, I can not get any audio out to either my DEMI LDPA or my DEMI 70cm XVTR. No audio signal shows on the pan, and I do not believe anything is going out. I can key a local repeater just fine, and I can hear signals just fine, so the FM carrier is going out, just no outgoing audio. If I switch back to a HF slice I get audio out no problem. It just seems to be the XVTRs.

I feel like I missed a setting somewhere, but I went though all the menus looking and everything seems normal. But I will not be surprised if a setting has changed or moved and I just didn't catch it in all the discussion about V3.

Anyone know what I missed??

I'll be monitoring for a while so if I left out some detail just ask. It always seems clear to me when I write it  - hi hi

Thanks!!

Justin,

Two things to check

1. Is the LDPA connected to the transverter port on the back of the radio?

2. Is the Mic indicator moving and are the voice peaks set just shy of 0 db? Check that you have the correct microphone and input selected.

Should both of the above be OK then back up your profiles, perform a hardware reset, and reimport your profiles. LEAVE PREFERENCES UNCHECKED.

Let us know if this get you going or other results you are seeing.

I ended up chatting with Flex, and as suspected it was totally operator error.

If your split is bigger than the frequency spread on your waterfall you won't see your audio signal if you are looking at the receive frequency..... (embarrassed head smack). :(

I had a bunch of windows open and ended up having really small waterfalls displayed. During the troubleshooting i closed everything and opened just one big pan adapter window with a single slice, and there it was.... down .6 like it should be.

I recently started using my Flex-6700 on 2 meters with a DEMI 2MLDPA. The panadapter just freezes when I transmit so that I cannot observe my transmitted waveform when using WSJT-X or JTDX. I have tried a number of "frequency spreads" on the panadapter with no change in behavior. Is the radio operating as designed on this band (fine on lower frequencies) or am I missing something?

Ed,

This is the intended operation. When the XVERT port is transmitting you cannot receive. The way around this is to use a split IF and receive transverter signals on RX A or RX B.

This is the way I run things for satellite operations.

What Mack said. The 6700 works great for satellites with the DEMIs, you just can’t transmit on XVTR when it’s selected as receive antenna also.

After having major operator error, I felt a little better when I was on the line with Eric today and he forgot about this particular functionality on the 6700. ;-)

Justin and Mack,

Thank you very much for helping me understand what is going on here. My 2MLDPA can be modified to have separate outputs fairly easily, but other than observing the output waveform, there is little advantage to doing that mod. If I want to see the waveform, I can select ANT 2 and transmit, but of course without the mod I cannot hear other stations and make contacts.
