is it possible to keep the "A" bar in the center when tuning? right now, when it hits the edge it stays there until you tune back....

Check out K9DUR.
SDRAutoCenter (v2.2.0 - Released: 12/2/2018) --  This program automatically adjusts the panadapter center frequency as you tune around the band.

Jamie - as Tom mentions above SDR AutoCenter will work, although K9DUR admits it doesn't work very smoothly and he still has to work to do on this program.  I tried it for awhile and it bugged me so I deleted it.

Some additional background -- Ray/K9DUR  posted an idea for an enhancement to add a slice centering option in SSDR about 5 years ago.   Link here:

https://community.flexradio.com/flexradio/topics/slice_a_should_be_centered_after_frequency_change_v...

After a while he wrote his utility.

It would be nice to have it as an integral part of SSDR but that may be true of a lot of the third party applications that have been written to address gaps or missing features in SSDR.
