New out the box Maestro on the same network and or directly connected to Flex 6600 gives me loading error 152 communication problem with hardware.
I am at my remote site so can use help if anyone can please.

Flex works great but Maestro actually can hear the radio and the knobs work but no display and just keeps "LOADING"

Using static IP address and can see it named Maestro_Display so it is on the network.

Trying backing up to 2.1.33 from what I was using v2.2.8
No joy it just keeps waiting on hardware.
Restored v2.2.8 and put Maestro on sideline for now.

Check your battery charge (check plug in power supply) and internet connection/strength.

And your Maestro needs to be on the same version as the radio.

Does this error mean a replacement unit is needed?

6600+Maestro arrived today.
Maesro worked for about 2 hours but was a very sluggish.
I shut it down, waited about 1 min, turned it ON and came with 152 error - same as on image above.
When I click OK, it is going to "Loading..." message forever and nothing happennig.
Called Flex, but they are already closed for tonight. Will follow up tomorrow.

Yes been there seen that same thing.
Must be some missing code or boot loader issue.
My unit actually controlled the 6600 and just never got a display.

Try this.
One. Only use power supply provided with unit.
Two no battery in unit if you added it.
Three hold power switch to power off but do not release it until unit does full power down the replace and try again!
This is what Tim gave me to do but I had no joy so they send new one same day!

Thank you Russ.
Tried your advice, hold it until it is off.
Waited another min.
After power ON and Loading blue logo, "Loading..." screen showed up for 30 sec or so with following "Error communication with Maestro Hardware (152). Please try again. (K)"

Yes, AF and VFO works, with error on the screen.
Pretty bad for a 1st day of arrival.

Ok that is exactly what I had as well. My remote site is only 85 miles away but cost me two trips to get going.
This is third one I have seen posting on my original note so must be some small code issue.
Once you get a new one sure your smile will be back!!

Will see tomorrow.
By the way, dioes you Maestro show following simptomps:
1. During power up about 3-4 laud popus through speaker
2. When click on Meters, it was open panel with delay and also with sound like "wzzzzz".
Same when you close Meters.
3. VFO a little sluggish.
Probably faulted unit but just wanted to know. My FT5000FT VFO smooth as a butter and was supprised to see delays in VFO response.
Thanks Russ

Start a support ticket with Flex on line. Some of the Maestros have a bad chip in them. Tim at Flex will resolve. Describe to him what you have posted here. 73.

By reading these posts this issue is with older versions of the Maestro.  I just recently received a maestro from someone to check out to see if it was worth it for me to purchase.  This unit is coming up with the same error as everyone here has posted.  It is also about a year or so old as well and was if I am correct used in some alpha testing.  Now that I am tryin to check it out I am unable to use it as I have the Error 152 (K) as well.  I have had this plugged in with the charger and it also has one of those USB batteries in the back compartment which is fully charged.
When I turn it on I get the error.  I am still able to hear audio when I select the RX, I just don't know where or what I'm hearing.  Any ideas what can be done locally?  I have read it may be the internal battery and/or a bad chip.

Error 152 sounds like the USB cable to the Maestro auxiliary / interface board came loose.  One way to verity, with Maestro off, plug AC power adapter into Maestro and it should power up on it;s own (at least the A version does). This show 5V-DC is making it from the Aux PCB over the USB cable to the internal tablet.

With it turned off and plug in power it does automatically start.  Still has same error but it turns on.  Yes it is the older version of Maestro.  It has been sitting on a shelf for a while at someone else's place and I was wanting to take a look at it.

Ok.  So I went ahead and opened it up to look at the cables.  Apparently as long as the front and back are not screwed together it will work.  As soon as I apply a screw to close it up and then start it it gets the error.  When its already running, after it is open and started, then closed up and screwed back together it stays running, no issues.....  But.... When I then shut it down and try and restart, once again it errors out.  I would have to guess the issue is the USB cables inside that connect the various parts together.  Not sure that was the best design.  So I guess if I want to run the Maestro I have to unscrew, open up, start it, then close and screw it back together each time.

I wonder if there are new USB cables needed.

This is a 152 Error (K)

Any ideas?

Once buttoned up does the internal speaker, VFO, audio etc. knobs work?

The USB cable from tablet to interface PC board is the main concern. The other USB cable is strictly for power when operating w/o the 12V-DC supply.

In addition to the USB cable (as you note) the USB connector at interface PCB could a problem. One can carefully/gently wriggle connections, inspect cables and so on to find the defect.

On the main Flex web site there is a PDF about recharging a Maestro if the internal battery is exhausted. This app-note shows how to route USB cables when closing the case.

Good Luck.....

I am thinking either the cable is bad or the connector it plugs into.
When I remove the back cover off the Maestro it will boot up and run properly.  WITH it already running I can reconnect the back cover and put screws back in, and it works.  I can see the screen and shows up like it should.  I have been scanning around the bands for last couple hours and then made a minor mistake and trying to switch to LAN Cable, screwed it all up again....

When it is running like just said above, and either turn off or what I just did and try and switch to LAN cable, which shuts down the main software, then when try and reconnect with back casing still screwed in it goes into this error 152 (K).

Even with the error I can hear audio, transmit, everything like I could when it is running properly, just no screen.

I figure I will try and switch out that cable from the tablet to the board.  My issue is not wanting to break anything and the tablet doesn't seem to want to move to be able to get the USB out from its connector.  Almost like it has some glue or something other than just the rubber feet holding pressure.

I'm sure this thing is out of warranty and/or now that either I opened it or the previous owner did they wont touch it.
