I have Smartlink configured but it fails the Network test. I don't have the skills to set up port forwarding.  I have TeamViewer if someone can get into my computer and help me.  I want to buy a Maestro at Hamvention but that will happen ONLY if I can get my Flex to talk with it.  Thanks.

First thing is to determine what your router is, Andrew. Many routers will happily use UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) to set everything up for you. In my case, that’s all I needed, although some figure it’s a security issue and set up manual forwards so they do not have to turn on UPnP. If you are lucky, that will be all you need after setting up SmartLink. Leave the ports at default, same in as out.

The router is a Linksys.  The box for enabling UPnP is ticked but it doesn't connect. I'm afraid I don't know anything about networking.  (When I learned to program computers, they didn't have keyboards or screens.)

I just spent a good deal of time with Linksys support.  It was determined that my router needed to be replaced with a new one.  A new one is on order.  If that doesn't take care of my problem, I will repost here for help.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

If you are getting a new router, be sure to get one with both 2.4 and 5 Gig radios, independent of each other. Will give you much more flexibility (let alone capability :-). (That’s assuming you are getting a WiFi router, of course.)

In my experience, Flex does not carry stock at Hamvention.  You just order from them, like you do online or over the phone.  Might as well place a phone order whenever you are ready to buy.
