Name change on Flex virtual serial ports to "Fabula Tech" VSP?

Anyone else seen this. I am sure they said Flex after my 1903 update and 2.5.1 installs but I looked at Device Manager today and found these. I only use virtual comm. 15 for the Woodbox meter and that is working correctly.

FabulaTech is the driver Flex virtual serial ports use.
Check SmartSDR CAT and see if you have COM 5, 6, 7, and 15. If you are only seeing COM 15 try right clicking on the remove button in CAT and click reset CAT ports.

OK, then looks like the Win10 1903 changed it from FlexRadio to FabulaTech. Could be during the upgrade Windows loaded drivers from Windows database and that could be what changed the names. The driver Windows used are perfectly fine, just not packaged for Flex.

I am going to back up my PC with Acronis True Image and bite the bullet and upgrade to 1903. I'll see if it does the same thing.

Did the upgrade .to 1903 and unscrambled DAX.

Serial ports remained FlexRadio but I have many versions of SmartSDR CAT installed (really need to clean up).

So, not sure why yours show FabulaTech. But at least they work.

This has happened to me several times, never been a problem.

A rose by any other name is still a rose, or a virtual serial port.

Just maybe avoid allowing both port name spellings to accumulate, and try to coexist with each other.

It can also occur if your trying to use both SmartCAT, and say VSPM. to create ports for a legacy FLEX5000a, and a Flexradio 6xxx, on the same system.

Ok but mine said Flex ... during 2.4.x. As long as everything works. Just was a surprise when I saw the name change.

Sounds like perhaps you have a different driver loaded.

Right click one of those ports, select "Properties" and look on the Driver tab.  You should see which driver you're using.  Also click the "Driver Details" button, for even more info.  Somebody whose Device Manager shows FlexRadio should do the same so we can compare.

I do hope it comes through, even if I'm using a local version of W10, Swedish letters/text.
