N1MM loses its comport

Hi all, I posted this question a week ago, but nobody replied.
Has anyone else had this problem. I can set up N1MM on a comport and it runs perfectly,
BUT If I try again a day or so later, it wont recognise the comport (or any comport in the CAT list, the only way to get it going is to add another new comport. N1mm then works ok, but at this rate I will run out of comports!!!.
Every other program such as ROS, Airlink Express, even WSJT-X (which can be difficult) keep the comport assigned to them, but not N1MM.
I am using Windows 7,  N1MM latest version , and SDR 2.0.19.  Thiis problem also happens with 2.0.17.  I haven't tried going back to a 1.11 or earlier SDR.
Note the problem is not life threatening, just very annoying, as I depend on N1MM for RTTY contests.
Comments please.

What do you mean by it loses the com port? Does it just disappear? With the "lost" com port, is it still accessible from other applications?

Thanks Ria, that was a good question to ask.
What I meant was, it  will operate using say Com 17, then possibly after turning the computer off over night and after starting up again it will no longer operate comport 17 and in fact will not operate with any existing comport. The only way to get it going again is to ADD another comport, using CAT and use the new comport with N1MM,then N1MM  will work again.
Just to be clear the radio sees the transmission in DAX TX, but  the comport does not actuate the PTT.

Same thing happened to me last week.. Com ports were still listed in device manager but were gone from CAT. I tried “repair” FlexVSP with no success. I had to re-create all the missing CAT ports. Took less than 5 minutes. Now CAT intermittently does not “see” the radio. Rebooting the radio and CAT fixes it.
