N1MM+ for CW keying?

I suppose during a contest is a bad time to ask a question?  But, maybe CW OP's are still twiddling there thumbs....

I am trying to setup the latest version of N1MM+ with my 6500 for SO2R as described in Eric Wachsmann's presentation.   All is well except for CW.  I know with the 6500 I will be using the same antenna port for both radios but that's OK, DDUtil switches antennas when I switch radio's so works fine.

Anyway, how do I modify Eric's setup for CW?  So far I'm able to key-up (PTT) the radio but no CW is going out when I press the macro function keys in N1MM...  I am not using Winkey or any other keyer with the radio.

Here is what I modified in Eric's SSB setup to get the radio to key-up when I press one of the N1MM's macro cw keys:

Thanks in advance for any help, Dennis, k0eoo

Dennis:
I have N1MM Plus integrated with my 6300, and it only took a few minutes to set it up.
In CAT 1.5.1 I defined virtual ports pair 4/14.  Under Main, Radio Model Flex-6300, I set Connect 3rd Party Program to Port:  COM4 (Change this as necessary).  CAT needs to be active when you are keying with N1MM Plus. If you terminate CAT, N1MM loses the connection to the radio.   In Smart SDR 1.5.1, Radio Tab, Focus Helper, I set the program to N1MM, UDP Port 12060, Delay 1100.   This makes sure that focus returns to N1MM after you make a change on the SSDR screen.   Configure N1MM Plus, Config, Configure Ports, Hardware, Port COM4 (or what you define), Radio Flex-6000 Series, check CW/Other, Details Set, SO1V.  In Config, Change your station data, enter your Call.  I think that is all I had to do.  Change the defined COM port to whatever you want to use.   All the macros work.  Here are the macros I have defined for CWOPS CWT.  The ~ are inserted as a non-defined morse character, which makes it a space.

## N1MM Logger+ CW Default Function Key File#
# This file can be used in most CW contests that have a simple exchange
# The {EXCH} macro uses the contents of the Sent Exchange box in the contest setup
# The {SENTRSTCUT} defaults to 5NN or allows manual entry of signal report
# F5 uses "!" macro for his callsign
# Do not use the {CALL} macro in place of the ! macro
# S&P F1 calls QRL? before placing the program in RUN mode for calling CQ
#
# To respond to caller, send F5 then F2, or ; (default exchange key) or
#   Insert, or Enter in ESM

CWX sending is still available if needed, independent of N1MM.

Hope this helps.

I reread your message and see you are trying to do SO2R.  I'm don't run SO2R so not sure what the implications are.

Hi Wayne,  thanks for your comments.  I think either I don't have something setup correct with the ports or N1MM or SO2R is not working in CW mode between the Flex and N1MM....

There was a thread 2 weeks ago about CW not working in SO2R but I didn't quite understand why or what I should do different...

Hello Thomas,

I saw both your links when you posted them but your using the term CWX threw me, I thought you were referring to CWX in the Flex not in N1MM+.....

I just imported your macro's and they work GREAT with my slightly modified SO2R setup from Eric....

Great piece of work Thomas!  Regards, Dennis, k0eoo
