Multi-Multi Contesting: Two Flex 6xxx's, Two Maestro's - How does Dax/SmartSDR Cat Differentiate bet

I'm working on setting up a mutli-multi at my station for fall contesting.  We will have the following setup:

- PC, Flex 6700, Maestro
- PC, Flex 6500, Maestro
- Both setups will be connected to the same 10/100 switch
- N1MM+ on each PC
- Antenna Genius

I understand how the Maestro is connected to the appropriate 6xxx and how each 6xxx will be directed to the antenna switch via the Antenna Genius software.

What's throwing me off is how does DAX and SmartSDR Cat know which pc to control.

For example:

I setup a Serial port for the winkeyer and configure N1MM+ to use that com port for cw keying.  How does SmartSDR Cat know which radio to send the keying signal to?

Thanks

My guess, it will use an IP address to determine which PC to connect to.
That PC will use the serial port you configure SmartSDR CAT to use.
SmartSDR CAT will send CAT commands to whichever radio it's connecting to, and share the responses with whatever you connect to SmartSDRs CAT ports.
Feels like magic's involved doesn't it?
Sometime magic is nothing but, hard work, well thought out design, and well paid engineers.
A little, correct, configuration may be all that's required, from you.image

    Rich,

Each PC running N1MM+ needs to have a "filter.txt" file that identifies the serial number of the radio that you want to use with that PC.

This goes in the directory as seen on my PC below:

    C:UsersK5SDRAppDataRoamingFlexRadio Systems

You can get there by typing %appdata% into Windows Explorer and then look for the FlexRadio Systems folder.

Create and save a file called "filter.txt" in that directory and enter the last four digits of the radio serial number that you want to use with that PC.  You could enter all digits but the last four are all that's needed.
