I would like get a balanced XLR mic to attach to the rear of my FLEX 6500. I have a radiosport RS60 on the front.
My goal is to have them both hooked up and ready go all the time.  Is this doable or would I still have to unplug one of them to use the other.
I would appreciate suggestions for an XLR mic that would accomplish this.

Hi Gene,

Yes,  I've got my RS60 on the front 8 pin foster and a balanced XLR on the back of my 6500.  No problem having both connected at the same time.  I've got a mic profile for each mic and the selected one is the one that gets used.  It's as easy as switching mic profiles.

I've used the HEIL PR-781 and PR-22 with great results.

I'm currently using a Marshall MXL-990 Balanced XLR condensor mic.  This mic requires phantom power so I have a Behringer Mic Preamp installed with the mic.  I get great audio reports with this setup.
