I seldom use SSB any more but just in case one of those rare ones I need are on ssb I decided it was best to be prepared! As the heading notes, I purchased the handheld FHM-2 mic with RJ45 plug from Flex and have it plugged into the M-Mic1 port on the Maestro.
Can someone please share their Mic settings, mic drive levels and any other pertinent settings for this mic/Maestro combo.
I have the Maestro M-Mic 1 port selected and the BIAS and +20db mic gain set to on and the Transmit Profile is set for the FHM-2-DX setting and no changes were made to the associated TX equalizer settings...but man this mic seems real hot... It is picking up the TV in the other room and there is a low pitch rumble constantly in the monitor when I just key the mic open (no speech) The TX Menu on the Maestro has the Monitor level set to about 5 and the mic level to ZERO and talking into the mic still drives the slice audio drive level indicator almost to 0dbm.
This CW op needs some mic help :-)
