Ever since a recent upgrade to 1.11.12, the local Maestro CW sidetone is disabled on restart of the device. Sidetone is restored by only by adjusting the sidetone volume control in the TX MENU.

Are you sure a profile is not interacting with the volume setting?

Hi Tim,

Could it possibly fix itself if he downgrades to an earlier version and then
back to the current version to reload it or am I having hallucinations again.

I doubt it, but anything is possible.

Okay, I just thought it was like when they have to reload Smart SDR
on a desktop when something glitches and that corrects it.

I don't think so. The slider shows the volume control to be set mid scale (e.g., 59), but I get no sidetone until I move it a bit, even slightly.

If you send with key connected to the Maestro, does that trigger sidetone?  You may have a few characters that are not sent, but does the act of sending restore sidetone?

No. No amount of sending restores the Maestro sidetone. I have always connected a paddle directly to Maestro and in previous SW revisions have not experienced this. I turn on the Maestro, connect to a radio, try to send (it does actually transmit what the paddle is sending), but there is no sidetone from the Maestro. Since I only operate via LAN or WWAN, I don't know if there's any sidetone coming from the main unit or not.

Maestro sidetone only restores when I press the TX MENU button on the Maestro and adjust the side tone volume via the slider control. Before I touch the slider, it displays the last sidetone volume setting I had before I had shut down (i.e., it does not display zero volume). When I move the slider the slightest bit, sidetone is restored as normal.

To be clear, when I first go into the menu, it displays (say) a 50. If I move the slider to 51 from 50, all is back to normal.

Not a big deal ... once I figured out what was going on. Just thought I'd report it.

OK.  This problem report is very similar to one we had that we fixed in SmartSDR v2.0.17 (issue #5039) and that fix was integrated into the 1.11.12 code.  I am verifying that the fix is in the release code.

Hi,

sorry for bringing up this old thread. But I have more or less the same issue here. Using 2.2.8, but it happened with earlier software releases as well.

Starting up the 6500 radio and Maestro (via Smartlink) local sidetone is missing. Entering the TX menu, the Sidetone button is enabled. Just by toggling this button to off and on again the sidetone is back. Or by changing the sidetone level.

I can reproduce this behavior by just dropping the connection with SmartSDR on PC or iPad and reconnecting with Maesto. And the sidetone is gone again...

I tried to use a different profile, but no change. Key is directly connected to the Maestro.

Any suggestion to fix this behavior?
