Maestro Native VPN Support in 1.8?

When Maestro was released we were told that native VPN support was being held off till the next update (1.8?).  I was looking over the change logs and didn't see mention of it.  Does 1.8 offer native VPN support?

I didn't see anything in the change log but networking is more robust now with the Maestro.... I was getting dropped packets with wired connection, I don't now with 1.8.

Too bad about the VPN on 1.8.... was looking forward to that.

Are you saying the networking with the Maestro is more robust after updating to 1.8?

I have the same problem with 1.7 but after all the problems I have seen with the upgrade to 1.8 I am afraid to try it.

VPN is a huge priority item for everyone but like all software it takes time to get it right.

The 1.8.3 release was a quick release to fix a number of significant bugs in 1.7 and add a few enhancements.  It was part of the new more frequent software release policy by Flex.

I would expect VPN support to be part of a future 1.8 Point Release  - but like all software development its impossible to predict how long it will take to implement and fully test and debug it

All one can safely say is that they are working on it... and it will be delivered as soon as it is ready.

True that!

To be fair, I wasn't expecting VPN until v2.0, so I am glad it will happen before that.
We all have our different lists of priorities. Now that I have the Maestro VPN with the Maestro and being able to use Maestro and SmartSDR for Windows at the same time are a priority for me. As a 6700 owner I also would like some more refinement on the VHF front... fixing some of the odd behavior. I also look forward to a full duplex sat capable rig in combination with some DEMI gear, so a rework on how the RCA TX ports work will be great.... again, for me.

Excited to be adding a new software version to the Flex.
