Howdy:

I understand battery life varies by battery, usage and other factors. I'm hoping there's some predictable category of service I can expect from the Mogix 10400 mAh battery and my Maestro.

The manual says the battery should support a minimum output current of 2.1A. To me, this roughly equates to a maximum of just under 5 hours. So in general, I think I would expect somewhere between 3 to 5 hours of Maestro use on a single charge.

In your experience, is this within the ballpark? What is your minimum expectation based on a 10400 mAh battery?

Do you have any techniques for conserving battery power while operating?

The Mogix gives me about 3 to 3.5 hrs run time.
The Polanfo batteries (which are no longer available) give me 4 to 4.5 hrs run time.

Thanks for the quick reply Dave. I ran a battery down - quit right after a QSO. I could have sworn I was only on battery for about 20 minutes but looking back at the log, it was multiple QSOs stretching over 3 hours.

I didn't get a battery warning. I got "maestro has stopped" and later, when on external power, it went through a long hardware initialization process. Everything seems ok on external power now but I need to make sure I know what to expect from the batteries.

Bought two direct from Mogix last week for $75 no bag.

Just got two more using this deal (and $5 credit) for under $30.

Thanks!

Any tips on improving battery life?

I understand Ethernet uses less battery than wi-fi.
Lowering the dial and display brightness probably helps.
Headphones less battery than speaker?
CW less battery than voice?
