The internal battery seems to work well- it keeps my Maestro up for 3 or 4 minutes while I change the battery. I wonder what technology this battery is and how it is charged?

The display uses a device specific LiPo battery with its own independent charging circuitry.

The internal battery is charged only when the Maestro is powered off and external DC power is applied.
