Maestro Display Dims on Transmit While on Battery

Having received my Maestro on Friday, I've had a wonderful time playing radio. Everything is different, but everything is the same, if you know what I mean.
I have noticed that when running on battery (Mogix 10400 mAh) and pressing the PTT, the display will dim while transmitting. When releasing the PTT, the display resumes its normal screen intensity. The battery is fully charged. This dimming does not occur when the power supply is plugged in.
As the Maestro unit is just passing packets back to the 6300, I wouldn't think that the power load would change much between transmit and receive. Is this the normal and intended operational characteristics of the Maestro?

Jay the first thing I would check is if your Mogix is plugged into the 2.5 amp receptacle on the battery. there are 2, one is 2.1 and the other outboard one is 2.5a. just curious then we may have to dig down a bit.

This is normal behavior. We reduce the power consumption of the LEDs when running on battery to extend operating time. During xmit, the transmit indicator is bright, which reduces the voltage available to the other LEDs, making them dim a little.0

Hi Chris, yes plugged into the correct 2.5 Amp outlet on the battery. I just re-verified it again.0

Thanks Tim for the explanation.0
