Some of the messages listed in this community providing order dates and about receiving invoices have been confusing to me.  On 02 June someone stated they order in October 2015 (no day give) and they have received their invoice and their Maestro had been shipped.  Now KD4HSO stated he has no invoice with an order places on 14 Sept.  Does not make sense to me.  What I am reading here does not provide information I can use to estimate the delivery of my 28 Oct order.  Maybe people do not remember when they placed their order.  Not for sure why I even read these messages.

I'd like to jump in here and clarify a few things.  I know those who have ordered and are still awaiting delivery are experiencing a high level of anticipation.  We understand this very well and are doing everything humanly possible to eliminate the backlog of Maestro orders as soon as possible.  Please keep in mind that...

1. We had a significant backlog of Maestros orders to fulfill.
2. Distributors are receiving their allotments in the same order as customers who purchased.  It is a FIFO system.  First to order, first to receive.
3. Orders placed now are not being fulfilled.  They are in the same FIFO queue as all previous orders
4. It takes time to manufacture, assemble, test, package and ship a Maestro.
5. We are shipping them as fast as we can while maintaining high-quality standards.
5a. We are shipping them as fast as we can while maintaining high-quality standards (added again for emphasis)
6. Dayton always slows down the shipping processes due to the number of radio orders that have to be shipped.
7. We have added temporary help to assist with shipping.
8. Last but not least, we anticipate that we will have the entire backlog cleared in about 4-5 weeks barring any unforeseen circumstances.

So I ask please be patient.  We will be getting to you promptly.

Hi Tim,

You say FIFO but I see two op's have now
received their invoice to pay who placed
orders after me. KF4HR and Brent Parker.
I placed my order on Oct 8th, so has the
FIFO rule's changed or are they in error
with their posts.

Hi Lew.  After I added some accessories and received an updated Maestro invoice I exchanged email with Katie.  She said my Maestro should ship within the week.  I have not received an exact shipping date or tracking number yet.

Good, mine left today, should be here Tue. Planning to add a fiber link so I can connect Maestro, Flex and computer and have some form of isolation to DSL system.

I don't know about you, but we get some very bad thunder storms around my qth.

Lots of high end equipment for  lightning to get to into.

Ordered on-line October 28 2015. Received notice to pay balance today June 9, 2016. Noticed said it would ship in about 2 weeks.

Sounds like they are making good headway into the backlog, and they expect to have it cleared in 4-5 weeks.

Hum.....So, wondering if it will be here just before or just after field day??  :)

It took mine about 5 biz days to hit the shipping dock. Ground UPS added another 5 biz days. That's cutting it a bit thin so a faster shipping method may be needed.

OZ5ABV - please contact your distributor about the issue with the buttons being installed out of order.  I apologize that this was not caught by our QC processes.  I have addressed this with our manufacturer.

Mike, those customers outside of USA generally have to buy their Flex gear via distributors. You may find that some distributors put in orders for future customers, a long time ago. In fact, well in advance of those individual customers placing an order with the distributor. So it seems 'quick' but actually isn't because the distributor will have joined the queue quite a while ago. 73 Paul M0CVX

Tim, I contacted sales.  They re-invoiced, I paid, and they will release for shipment.  They sent original invoice on 6/1 but I never got it; was not in junk folder either.  Anyway, should be good to go now.

As a prospective buyer, I called in today and was told 3 to 4 weeks waiting time if I purchased the Maestro today. If people who purchased last year are still waiting what are the odds that a purchase in the next few days will see a ship date in the next few months or even this year? I will only have 30 days to return the Flex 6300 (not saying I would), I would prefer to use both the 6300 and Maestro together and decide during the same window so to speak, not sure if I want to pull the trigger knowing there is such a backlog.

The odds are essentially 100% that you will receive a Maestro in approximately 4 weeks.  Basically what you were told when you called in.

Tim,

I don't mean any disrespect by my post. I'm ordering the combo now and will use a laptop, desktop or iPad to control the 6300. If you're the same person I spoke to earlier, thanks for all of the information!

I'm looking very forward to using this all over the house. I'm keeping the Yaesu MP1000 Mark V, it's simply too nice to let go of but not sure how much use it will get going down the road. :)

Here's my order chronology.  I don't know if this is a fluke, or a new push to move them out faster,  but they shipped mine the day after I paid the updated invoice.  I'm certainly not complaining!

Preordered:                 28 Oct 2015
Invoice rcvd & paid:    09 Jun 2016
UPS origin scan:         10 Jun 2016 !! for delivery next week

Well without the resources of an HP or company like that I can see how it could cost a lot more to design. Personally, if we're spending $3,700 on the 6300 with the Maestro I'd prefer to buy the good battery over the low cost one and lower the chance of having an issue.

Last question, do you have the link for the battery they recommend? I'd like to have that here for when the Maestro arrives.

Thanks for the responses, have a great night!

Another quick question which may be very obvious but I don't want to assume. The battery I see linked to is an external, is the connector from the Maestro simply a micro USD connector, if so I have an awesome battery pack already that I bought last year.

Charge level indict ion was answered previously.
'The issue is that these battery packs do not normally have an external charge sensing level indication line and the packs are designed to provide an near constant 5.2V output until depleted. So there is no way to externally detect charge levels.

In that case, Burt, I was referring to CW. I was suggesting as that was a standard feature now, perhaps the SDR should support it without having to rent a 3rd party app. <snark alert> I mean, if the lessor brands can do it, clearly it is not that difficult. ;-)

Im sure youll love the new flex combination.  I have had my 6500 nearly 2 years.  Its been on everyday (when im home) and love it.  Now with the new maestro its even better.  Nearly 40 years a ham, and I can say its the best radio Ive owned, even better than the FTdx5000 that sits beside it (which hardly gets turned on now)

Wayne,

I have a Yaesu MP1000 Mark V, not in the same class as the 5000 but a pretty good rig. Ever since I got the SDRPlay the Mark V has been idle (been listening mostly) and being able to pick a signal from an entire band has been incredible.

I was going to configure the SDRPlay as a panadapter but not going to worry about that now the the Flex combo is on its way.

I don't mean to Hijack this thread but I do have a quick last comment on the LiPo battery.

I'm a little confused here but I think that Flex is already shipping LiPo batteries in the Maestro. I believe the internal battery-the one that holds the Maestro up during battery swaps- has a charging system and it is a LiPo battery?

Most likely a small battery.

Those batteries, correct me if I'm wrong, they put out so little that they couldn't cause a fire or similar problem if they tried.

That is a purpose built battery that is internal to the display module and is not capable of running the Maestro for more than a short time while the mail LiPo battery is swapped out.

Just helped a fellow ham search through his email as he thought he should have already received his Maestro invoice. Seems it was in a filter for about four weeks.

Easy enough to sort out and with payment made he should have his Maestro on the way soon.

Mentioning this as it is worth double checking ALL your email now and then for your Maestro correspondence if you think you are overdue.
