Trying to get a microphone hooked up to the Maestro. I got the Maestro just before Memorial Day. I ordered the adapter for the Radiosport headset that I also ordered from Flex. They back ordered the adapter. I called and talked to Matt that’s when he said the radiosport adapter was on backorder. I had read on the community that there was a problem with using the RJ45 adapter he pulled up that post and said he had no idea what would work but he would check with someone and let me know. Its been a couple of weeks now and I have not heard from him.
I tried the mic I have been using with my Bose headset and flex. The 1/8 connector on it has 4 sleeves vs TRS. When I use it with a mono adapter straight into the 6700 it works just fine. I tried it on the Maestro with the adapter and get nothing without the adapter it keys the radio when plugged in.
This is what I’m thinking of trying next Flex provided a RJ45 connector which I don’t need if I cut that in half and find the wires that go to pins 4 and 5. Then connect those to mic + and – on the Bose mic. The problem I see is the non shielded wires picking up RF. Before I sacrifice that microphone I figured I’d see if anyone has a suggestion on a mic that might plug into the mic2 input and work. I am on the road for 3 months and am currently in the Montana wilderness so not many places to shop. I did fine a WalMart in Havre Montana but didn’t see anything there that didn’t have a stereo plug.
