Lost connection when open seconds slice

FYI.. Perhaps "just one of those things".  I opened a second slice with the new SmartSDR version today and I received a message saying the connection with the Flex 6500 had been lost. I have not been able to replicate the problem since .

Today, the same thing happened when attempting a simple band change.  Slice A, change from 40 to 80M..."lost connection" .  Rebooting software fails to find the 6500, you have to shut down the 6500 and reboot before things work again.  Then I completed the desired band change without incident.

I had the same thing happen last night when I opened a second panadaptor.  I'd been jumping bands all day with no problem but suddenly got the dreaded "Lost Connection with Radio" message just as I opened a 2nd Pan and had to hold the power button to get the 6500 to reboot.

When the 6000 has an internal error it usually takes itself off the network and resets.  Wait at least 1 minute and the radio should re-appear on the "Available" list in SmartSDR.

If that doesn't happen, then force down the 6000

Tim:  If this were "conventional" code I would be looking for a memory leak.  Does the gate array suffer from the same programming error?

Do you have a third-party CAT application connected tot he radio at the same time?  If so, shut it down and see if you can still replicate the issue.

Tim,  I'm running 1.2.17.35. (You would be safe in making the assumption that anytime I post, I'm running the latest version if it's more than 24 hrs after the release date, LOL)  The last time I saw the "lost connection" error I believe the only other software I had running was Ddutil's HRD Server and HRDLog.

OK.  I still would like to know if you can replicate the problem without anything connected to the CAT port, no matter what the program is.  If you can't, then we have an avenue to investigate.

I make more notes next time it happens, I've been away for a few days.  Both time it happened , it happened after several hours of use where band changes had not been an issue.
