Logger for Waterfall

Does anyone know of any software for logging the waterfall over a period of several hours?
Is this something that could be configured with SmartSDR API?

I know this might only be mildly helpful, but in the past I've used Audacity to record the IQ stream from a Flex 6300. I *think* it will allow you play back the file from an arbitrary position in the band, but there wasn't an easy way to determine the actual frequency at that point. And the files will get big very quickly.

Worth a try.

Hi James,
It certainly could be done via the API but like Kevin said the files would get big rather fast.1 -
I hadn't thought of Audacity to record the IQ, interesting. I had heard elsewhere here that the DAX IQ can be piped over to HDSDR and that has an IQ recording feature in it already. Same issue in any case, you have no idea of the original center frequency on playback.0

I'm in the process of learning C++, and would like to write an gr-osmosdr driver for the 6000 once I learn enough If that could be done, it opens up a whole ecosystem of GNU Radio based software, such as GQRX, which logs 24 hour waterfalls. Baudline wall also process very large data sets.
