limited edition free upgrades forever?

I have several Flex radios.  One of these is a Flex 6500 Limited Edition.  It was my impression that the Limited Edition models had free software upgrades forever.  However, I just downloaded and installed 3.0, and I'm being presented with the Licensed Required dialogue.  Is this correct?  Please clarify.  Thanks. -- Carl N8VZ

Free upgrades were only for version two. You must pay for version three 73 Mack W4AX Alpha Team

Limited Edition radios received the v2 upgrade for free.  Unless a second license was pre-paid for, v3 will need to be purchased.

My memory is slightly different.  I believe the deal was that you got one additional free upgrade.  So if you did not upgrade to V2 already you could upgrade to V3 for free.

With my 6500 LE I paid for one year of SSDR upfront and got 2 years for "free".
This was later changed to versions 1,2 & 3 instead of years.
