I really know very little about shortwave or SDR. I purchased a  Elad FDM SW2 at an Estate sale a few weeks ago. It came with a huge antenna (DX Engineering RF-PRO-1B) and coaxial cable.  I would like to get it up and running on a laptop or another device instead of a desktop. So, I am looking for suggestions what it will efficiently run the factory software with no issues.

Regards,

Since this is the Flex Radio community page, this is centric around Flex and their products. I suggest you try Elad's customer support located at http://support.eladit.com/index.php

I’m guessing you have the FDM-S2 since I believe FDM-SW2 is the software.  I don’t have an Elad but run my Perseus and Afredi on Win 7 laptops with no problems at all.  You might want to join the Elad Yahoo user group for assistance:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/elad_sdr_en/conversations/messages

Also, the FDM-SW2 user manual is available online:

https://www.google.com/search?q=Elad+FDM+SW2&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=Elad+FDM+SW2+manual

The Elad and the DXE antenna (manual should be available on the DXE web site) are a great combination.  Have fun!
