transmit capability in LF MF bands 135.7–137.8 kHz and 472-479 KHz

Does the 6x00 hardware have capability to transmit on the LF and MF bands 135.7–137.8 kHz and 472-479 KHz, and if so, at what power level ? If yes, what needs to be done to enable transmit capability on these bands?

Peter: The 100 Watt Power Amplifier can not operate below 1.8 MHz. You do have the capability to use the Transverter Port to output transmit signals at about a 0 dBm level on any frequency the radio will operate upon. So, at 137 and 475 kHz, you will need to supply an external power amplifier and that would take in 0 dBm levels and boost them to whatever power levels you would use to operate in those bands. I will need to verify that the transverter port is currently "unlocked" at all frequencies on the Flex-6000, which is how our radios normally operate. --- Graham / KE9H

Thanks Graham, I had a look last night too. For 2200m and 630m. Just a bit confused on how the antenna is selected for XVTR. It seems to work all band on the blue selector but not the red in the RX slice ****. How is this supposed to work? I had guessed that red would be transmit. I didn't get a lot of time as I was tired so I may have got it back to front. Andrew de VK5CV/VK5ZUC

Peter and Andrew: It looks like the Transverter port is unlocked and functional. There is no transmit power indication on the transmit power meter-bar, but the unit does put out the expected ~ 0 dBm power on the Transverter port. As to Andrew's comment about selecting the XVTR via the flags, it looks like the radio is happier if you select the Blue (receive) XVTR first and the Red (transmit) second. (Or go back and forth a few times.) This should go away as part of the antenna port selection work the guys are doing for release 1.0. --- Graham / KE9H

Graham, I can only get it to work with both RX and TX set to XVTR. I hope it's is fixed in 1.0 as my LF and MF gear has separate RX and TX connections. I often use separate RX and TX antennas. So I need to RX on RXA. Andrew

We are working on this problem (and all antenna switching) this week, Andrew. Steve

Steve et al, Thank you. All the best. Amazing job so far and it keeps getting better. Andrew PS more odd behaviour, In XVTR with both on RX and TX flags to get output with tune or key down on the XVTR port the RX antenna switches to ANT1. Andrew
