Going beyond the 48khz is it permissible to run 192khz in DAX ? I have selected it and seems to work like the old VAC ?

You can use the 192k sampling rate but it does not provide you any real benefit. The audio coming from the radio is 24k so you are up-sampling to 192k. Then your digital mode program will need for the signal to be down-sampled to a sampling rate it can use, such as 48k for Fldigi (after configuring it). It is best to minimize the number had magnitude of the up/down sampling operations for greatest fidelity. So in my case, the 24k audio is up-sampled to 48k and Fldigi is running at 48k so there is only one external up-sampling operation. BTW, inside of Fldigi, the signal is down-sampled to 8k before being sent to most of the internal modems (modulators/de-modulators).
