OK. So I'm thinking about upgrading my 6700 to v2 but after reading about the issues involved with owner's configurations I thought I would check to see if there is anything else I need in order to upgrade

Here's what I have:

6700 connected via Ethernet to desktop
Desktop running Windows 8.1
Desktop connected via Wifi to the internet

That's it. Very basic. Can I upgrade?

With this configuration, to load and use SmartSDR v2.0 you have 2 options:
1. Wire the radio directly to your router or modem.  Note that if you are just going to do this temporarily to get the license, you will want to do this AFTER you upgrade to v2.0.

2. You can try using Internet Connection Sharing.  see this thread:  https://community.flexradio.com/flexradio/topics/v2-0-for-those-connecting-their-radios-directly-to-...
