Is Fan Speed Change part of the recent PEN?

I received my 6700 4 weeks ago. Thanks to FlexRadio for the great packaging and the speedy delivery. Although I haven't had a great deal of time to use it on air yet, I am very happy with what I have seen so far. The received is sensational!

I have noted that the fans in the unit do not perform as per Tim's post of about a year ago. The 2 larger fans, on each side of the case, only rotate at slow speed almost of the time, as Tim indicated, however instead of the other 2 smaller fans rotating at a constant speed, either 1 or both of them cycle at a more or less constant ratio of 10 seconds slow the 10 seconds fast, on a continuing basis.

As my unit was shipped after June 11th, I am wondering if the PEN email received this morning is the reason for the changed behaviour of the fans, or if I do in fact have a problem. It is not intermittent and happens all the time the rig is switched on. There is not a heat problem in receive as the unit is quite cool to touch.

Has anyone else who has received delivery of a F6700 since June 11th noticed this?

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated

What is a PEN? Does one get them if one buys one's radio from a retailer?

No there is no change to the fans.  The thermal upgrade is completely passive.  Your radio has all of the latest upgrades.  If the fans are cycling in receive, you may want to enter a help desk ticket.
