Interesting Discovery When Setting Dexpander Level

Does anyone notice an apparently high noise level on their transmit panadaptor when keying the radio in SSB mode?  This apparent "noise" causes no RF output whatsoever.  It just shows up on the Panadaptor.  I am running a 6300, SSDR 1.9.13 on Windows 10 and a boom mounted PR781.  I am using the 20db mic boost, processing is set to "DX" and mic gain is set to 65.

Seeing this apparent noise, I assumed that my shack had a relatively high ambient noise level (ALS 600 amplifier), I formerly set the Dexpander relatively high in order to eliminate this "noise" shown on the Panadaptor.  Listening to my audio through the monitor and headphones showed little of any ambient noise.  I still use the Dexpander but adjust it to eliminate what little ambient noise there is.  Setting the Dexpander while listening through the monitor results in a much lower setting and more punchy audio.

Any thoughts?

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
