Can I use the same DAX choices for all my digital mode programs?
I mean, instead of trying to remember what I had selected.
Say I have rtty and set the DAXiq to 1, Dax Receive to 1, and DAX Tx to 1
then I set the same dax choices in the wsjt program
as long as I'm not running both programs at the same time, that should work????
easier than trying to remember what I had set previously.
I can not imagine a time I would have two digital programs running at the same time.s

Yes

If you only use one digital program at a time

But frankly so much easier to make a list (tape it to your screen) and dedicate a specific DAX to a specific program

Eg. I use DAX 1 for 20M JT 65
DAX 2 for 15M JT65
DAX3 for 10M JT65

So I can watch 3 bands at the same time

DAX 4 for Parallels. Remote Audio

DAX 5 for Skype Remote Audio

DAX 6 for MIXW

DAX 7 for DM780

Then I never need to fiddle with the digital programs.

And I suspect that the reason multiple DAX was created so that u did not need to change programs

Bill,  Most of the time that is what I do.. One digital program at a time and never change the SSDR setting for any of them..   In the rare case where I am running more that one digital program  each on a different slice, then I use mulitple DAX channels.

As far as I can tell. if operating split, you must select a TX Dax channel other than the same number as the RECEIVE channel.
Is there a better way of doing this?
