After some testing and loading latest WL version with Flex driver version I have been able to get it working very well with my 6700. And the really cool part is that is has a awesome contest simulator (CSS). See my other post on this community. The support given by Wayne W5XD has been just great.
I beleive WL deserves to be looked upon as a serious SO2R tool.
I have tested N1MM and DX Log. Of course the are very capable but my disappointment with them is that their simulators do not really work 100 % with Flex. For sure not in "advanced SO2R mode".
I have only been testing "non assisted contesting" and two band SO2R, my preferred mode,  I need to stress that I have not tested spotting functions and so forth.
The settings are straightforward and can be seen at myblog: http://remotedxandcontestblog.sm0hrp.se/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/WL_6700_config.jpg.  Use the magnifying glass to have a closer look of screen view.
For SO2R you need to set up two slices per band (A+B and C+D). Why it is described on WL web.
One drawback with WL may be that you need to use Smart SDR on PC to run in SO2R mode. Unless the slice numbering on the Maestro can be altered from A and B to A and C.
