If the 'user' Aeron Dimer is a bot, actually even if he isn't, how safe are our email addresses and any other information that might be captured?

Probably about as safe as they are on any other forum.

Data mining your e-mail address from GetSat is fairly difficult unless you are a community administrator, and even then it takes navigating through a half dozen screens to get to it.

One of the purchasing criteria we established when FlexRadio selected user community engagement software was strict privacy/security of user account information and their contractual commitment not to sell or share that information with third-parties.  GetSatisfaction met those requirements.

As an enterprise grade platform Get Satisfaction is a considerable heads & shoulders above the typical php BBS, Yahoo Group or similar platform.

That said, if you post it, it is public.

And a certain amount of capture is desirable - most Get Satisfaction communities are search engine accessible, which definitely is "capture."

Wouldn't put your Bank Account numbers here, or your private keys, or insight into your personal password hash, but it would seem you have less to worry about than most on-line public collabative platforms.

Wondering if we will see improvements to the community with Get Satisfaction's buy out by Sprinklr?

FWIW -- in a conversation with the Director of Consumer Products for GetSatisfaction I asked about the acquisition.  Here is an excerpt:

....We're definitely excited about joining forces with the team at Sprinklr!  Community (and customer engagement in general) is very strategic for them, so I'd expect us to be able to re-double our efforts to offer the best customer community solution available.

I hope so. e.g. I've been a member here for a long time but am still not listed among the members.  (???)  And am listed among the Helpful Members when signed in, but not if not. (???)  Not very important in the grand scheme, but among the numerous Community quirks.
