How much current can the 2 USB 2.0 ports source at +5v to power hubs and FTDI port adapters?

I didn't find anything in the new USB document or in the Hardware manual.  Are they rated at 500ma or 1A or some other number?  I imagine there's some level of current limiting for protection as well....

Don't rely on the internal power. Use a powered hub for the most reliable operation.

Thanks Tim and thanks for your comments,
I tried running a FTDI relay board and a FTDI serial cable and the radio would shut down so as Tim said DON'T use it for powering devices.
There are some nice 12V powered USB Hubs that work great in my station and with the FLEX radio.
here is what I use.
StarTech 7-Port Industrial USB 3.0 Hub; ESD and Surge Protection part number (ST7300USBME).

I got a 4 port Anker powered hub. Works great. Can be powered via USB from an AC or DC adapter.
