How I love CWX!

I'm doing quite a bit more CW than I have ever done.  Part of this is an effort to regain code speed but also I just enjoy it.

I have some local hams into learning CW so we all tend to get on and do training.

But I have fallen in love with the Flex and CWX.   I like to send CW with my paddle but also being a computer guy and a fair typest I'm just fine using CWX.

What I especially like is how I can run a complete CW QSO on my laptop while sitting in the dinning room or out on the deck or in the living room.

I mean you simply cannot beat that!

It gets difficult for me to send good CW above 32 wpm. The keyboard really works well. If you have not tried CW skimmer you might consider it. It is a Hi Rez waterfall. Point and clicking is like a shooting gallery.

I have skimmer but these days I'm working on code speed so I want to get to a sig, copy it in the head, then contact or move on.

I use skimmer when doing contests if allowed.

CWX IS a great feature especially for older hams with arthritis in their hands.  I can't do a straight key any more and not very good with paddles either - but typing (even with 2 fingers) I can send CW at 20+ wpm.  Copying CW is not a problem in my head hihi.
