How do you register your radio if you only have a jet pac or cell phone connection to the internet?

Here’s a case where hooking your radio directly to your computer is a good idea. In my case, I use a Linux Ubuntu laptop (no idea if Windows has a similar capability, but I think it does)

Turn on the computers WiFi and connect to your hotspot (or cellphone with hotspot turned on), then in the network setting of your computer, turn on network sharing for your WiFi connection. That enables the wired network to both run a DHCP server (in my case on the 10. network) and routing from the wired network to the WiFi (Internet-enabled) network. The radio is wired to the PC directly or through a switch.

Does not work easily for remote operation, but allows for registering and updating the radio and providing DHCP.

You could get a cheap wireless access point with an Ethernet port that connects wirelessly to your jet pack. This can also be used to plug in a wired pc. Be sure it supports client mode. I think you can get cheap units on amazon for around 30 bucks.
