hot switching

I noticed a few days ago I was hot switching my amp, however NOTHING has changed in my configuration, plus I use TX REQ Interlock so rig should NOT xmit until amp has switched.

If I close Smart SDR ( 1.5.1.152 ) and reload Smart SDR the hot switching stops.

Is this some timing issue with Smart SDR?

I'm using Flex 6500 with ACOM amp, and even happens at SLOW cw, like 20 wpm.

Anyone else have problem?

Are you using a third-party app like DDUtil that can change the state of the radio?

Tim, yes I'm using DDUTIL, but don't have a clue where to look for problem. About all I really use DDUTIL for is a bit more control of Flex Knob.

Guess I can close DDUTIL and see what takes place.

Not me, I use a Heal FS2 foot switch. Never did trust switching from the radio, any radio not just the Flex.

Yes, divide and conquer - the best troubleshooting technique.

If DDUTIL were causing it, couldn't you assign a very small delay to the TX connections keying the amp?

Didn't seem to do much. Once I reloaded SmartSDR it was okay, even at 65wpm, full break-in. Somewhere something changed because I have been using same configuration for a number of months

Ditto here... Use the FS2 with all radios & amp combos.  Simple & reliable.
