I am looking to try a Hexbeam for the first time and wanted to get some suggestions from other Hexbeam owners on good models to look for and the ones to avoid.

I ran the KIO Hex beam for about 4 years. at onle 25 ft height with good performance. 6 bands 20, 17, 15, 12, 10 and 6 meters. legal limit capable and never had any issues with it. Sold it to a friend and he is still using it.

Hi Please look at this link - I have had great luck with it. Even the 40meter kit as well

I have the NA4RR hex and like it a lot. There are several YouTube videos featuring it. If you get ice in the winter the optional ice cords are a must have to take the weight off the spreaders.

My KIO works fine and did pretty well in hurricane Irma. I did replace the fiberglass but all else was fine. BTW: paint the fiberglass before assembly to last longer.

My K4KIO Hex Beam (6 band) works great even at 25'.  No tuner required!

John, I have had a K4KIO HexBeam up for 8 years now, and I’m very happy with it. Definitely the best bang for your buck! 8 bands, wide band coverage, light weight, low surface area and works well at low elevation.

I initially installed mine on a guyed tv mast at only 20 feet and worked 230 counties in a little over 12 months! Leo is very easy to deal with.

Highly recommend.

The K4KIO looks like a solid antenna.
has anyone used RadioWavz Sentinel Hex Beam 40-6M Multi-Band Antenna?

The K4KIO is a better choice.  The construction is superb as is the service. At Leo's suggestion I did not opt for 6 meters since he indicated it tends to degrade the performance of the other band(s)
Mine has been up for years.

SP7IDX Hexbeam.  I am sorry to say but the machining and build quality on this one puts the USA manufactured Hexbeams to shame.  http://sp7idx-hexbeam.eu/hexbeam/

5-band Spiderbeam HD has higher gain...if you have room for its 32’ wingspan.

Love my NA4RR. Have 2 of them. Had minor problem with one after 4 years of coastal storms and they took care of it when they didn't have to. Would recommend spraying your spreaders with a UV resistant coating
