Heil GM4 question

Is there any setting that would cause a Heil GM4 to not work from the front connector? (I recently upgraded SSDR) The stock hand microphone works just fine.  If not, its headed back to Heil for repair.

Just the cable.
Make sure the MIC connector is not off 1 pin.
The Heil Foster connectors are just a bit small and can get off by a pin and least in the FLEX5K and the FLEX 6700.
Make sure it is the correct adapter, yellow is Yaesu/FLEX, Blue is Kenwood.
You need the yellow connector and on the FLEX especially the Flex5K the Ground and shield wire in the connector are reversed causing possible RFI.

no other reason I can think of.

The Heil was working before the software update. It is possible that the mic failure was coincidental.

I presume you backed up your profiles before doing the upgrade as recommended in the release notes, so I'd do a factory reset and re-import the profiles.

have you done a hard reset and tried it ?
If it worked before the update and the hand mic works still sure makes you wonder what has really changed.
Don't think if one mic works and the other one doesn't with out changing the MIC and TX profiles that it's NOT the radio but rather the MIC but who knows.

As you know the only difference should be the MIC level and the TX Equalizer settings unless your changing profiles when you change MIC's and the profile is corrupt and messing things up.
