Got a bit of a problem. How do I fix an association problem

I have two programs that use the same  .mdb suffix to start the problem.
In other words, W9OL.mdb and Bank-System.mdb are two different programs but both use the same .mdb suffix and even though I select Bank-System.mdb, I get my Ham Log program W0OL.mdb

There has got to be a way to associate the correct program with  program name with the same name.

Bill,

Normally Windows uses the file type (.mdb) to decide what program to run and pass the filename to.  So usually double clicking foo.mdb would start MS Access opening foo.mdb. You can adjust which program starts on which file type via the Control Panel/Default Programs/Associate a file type.

If you have foo.mdb and bar.mdb and want them to be associated with different programs (progA.exe and progB.exe) its not so simple.  You could set up a couple of batch files using Notepad.  Make foo.bat with a single line "progA.exe foo.mdb" and bar.bat with a single line "progB.exe bar.mdb".  Then double clicking foo.bat would do one thing and double clicking bar.bat would do something completely different.  Kinda kludgy, but it might work for you.
