Unacceptable that this customer's reasonable post was removed instead of somebody leaving a helpful comment and closing the thread. This is not the behaviour I have come to expect from FRS in the community.

Why was this? Have the moderation guidelines or publishing guidelines been changed.

Guy - please relax as you seem to be mistaking the FRS Sponsored Community for a User Controlled/Moderated Forum and largely come across as filling your time during your eager anticipation of a new radio with forum participation overload.

We're all very eager to share in your upcoming Flex-6x00 experiences but are less enamored with posts appearing authoritative/experiential when you actually don't have your radio yet nor have been on the air for a long time.

Kind of a long winded way of saying "you'll get better response if save your bandwidth with the community for actual FRS experiences/comments/problems once you are up and running with a Flex."

As the FRS Sponsored Community is the company's official forum, I am sure they reserve the right to edit/delete/close threads that are off topic or disruptive.  I know I would.

A legit and re3asonable post by G0TMX was deleted. It was not one of mine...yet :-). It was a very reasonable question asked by a customer who HAS already got his 6300 :-).

Many of my posts have been for information clarifying points which were not clear from the documentation. I just want to be up to speed as much as possible before getting my kit and want as few as possible issues to be down to user error.

I shall try and curb my enthusiasm and sorry if it is 'too much' for some of you.

Guy,

Recently an entire conversation was deleted including a dozen or so comments
some of which were by "Elmers"  and one by myself.  Perhaps you were in that
group.  I have no idea why it was deleted, but I wouldn't take it personally.  This
is the first time I've seen this happen and I've no clue as to why.

Take Care,

Ned,  K1nj

I asked Tim and he said that only the original poster can delete a message without explanation. If FlexRadio does the deletion we have to provide an explanation. I confirmed that no one at FlexRadio deleted the post that you mentioned. In other words we have no idea.

Gerald, thanks for the explanation and please accept my sincere apologies for 'jumping the gun' as it were.

Gents.. I feel I must let you all know, I deleted my own post, as after posting an appeal for help, I noticed a previously unseen thread about the issues I was having i.e. garbled decode of PSK31 via DAX. I'm still trying to get the decode 100% as it is with my other radios, but I prefer self help where possible.. I apologise to you all for any misunderstandings. I love my new Flex 6300!

Hi Terry,

Sorry to you too for jumping the gun. I would have been very interested in seeing any replies as I need to get up to speed pretty sharpish on digital modes as the XYL watches TV at the other end of our through lounge and SSB is out when she will be watching. So silent operation it has to be in the early evenings.

I shall be off to ML&S after I have had my coffee and should be the proud owner of a 6300 VERY soon. I have already reserved it to avoid disappointment.

I do notice that there often are several threads on similar/the same topics. Different people answer them and things are explained differently in each one which adds to the forum - some posts are clearer than others to me and I often find it helpful seeing different takes on the same issue. That is just me <g>.

All the best,

Guy G4DWV/4X1LT
