FT8 Decoding and DAX RF Gain 2.4.9

Not sure if this is a problem or not.

After upgrading to 2.4.9 (6700 Windows 8.1) WSJT-X stopped decoding FT8. I could see lots of signals in the Flex waterfall but none in the WSJT-X waterfall. I reverted back to 2.3.9 and decoding resumed as normal.

I repeated this several times and the results were the same. Then I starting messing with the RX gain in DAX and noticed that if I reduced it to 18 the decoding resumed. Any setting above 23 is causing the decoding to stop.

Has anyone else seen this? I was keeping the RX gain much higher in 2.3.9

DAX is Supported When Using SmartLink: DAX has been optimized for efficient network operation, which allows it to be used in conjunction with SmartLink.  Like using SmartSDR CAT, the SmartLink or locally connected radio must be selected from the Radio Chooser.  Please note that due to DAX bandwidth optimizations, you will need to adjust your DAX TX and RX levels the current setting will be slightly lower in gain than with previous versions of DAX.

No issues here. Sure you can bump up or down the RX gain if needed. About the only thing I noticed is that I did have to bump up the TX gain 7 notches, from 51 to 58. But that was as expected.

Edit: forgot to add that I can crank up the RX gain to 100 and still receive. It works at any setting even if it is not optimized. So you do have an issue some place if 23 and up kills it.

I'll just have to keep it low to keep WSJT-X happy.

So Far, My results have been as I expext, normal. same settings exactly so far with 2.4.9 as 2.3.9 withg the exception of the mic gain and a few other slight differences. As far as WSJT*-x and FT*Call, it has bee the same. no decoding problems as long as you keep the 'meter' in the wsjt stuff below about 72. For example, my rx on slice 2, stream 2 of dax is still at 71 with no problems.decoding
