additional infoadjacent signal can be more than 5kc away from slice receive signal and is usually 20db higher than noise floor. I noticed this problem on 20 and 40 meters on my Flex6300.I describe it as de-sensing because it diminishes the station that is being received.

The 6300 does not have as steep filters found on the 6500.
Turning on noise filters can degrade close signals that are so strong.0 -
Just as with any other rig, turning the noise blanker or wide and noise blanker up too high in the presence of very strong signals will compromise the dynamic range of the rig. WNB can “pump” with strong signals, especially if they have sharp transitions (key clicks or overdrive). If you turn the control down a little, the pumping will stop. NB will distort. In the presence of the same signals, just like any other NB.0

N3CHW, I got my 6600 back from a repair and noticed the same on 40m, the pumping was crazy.. Digging I realized when I looked in the Maestro meno the WNB was all the way up. Knocked it down around 1/4 scale, issue gone. Have to admit it freaked me out for a second.0

Thanks all, your comments helped clear this issue up for me!0

To be concise, the 6300 has no front end hardware filters.0

Regardless the problem was with the WNB being set too high. But you're right on the 6300.0
